    The gains strike me as coming off a misfit Cobra LTDx rather than a huge gain by going to Titileist GT models from a properly fit driver.

    • @scotthogangolf
      @scotthogangolf 2 дня назад

      That's part of getting fit and getting into a better driver, one that helps you find the middle more, but also plenty of the shots with the GT were mishit (I made sure to say it) and the ball speed on mishit shots was still 3 mph faster on average and spin was down a couple hundred rpms on those mishits from the other driver.

      I play a ltdx ls with a Venus white 60 s. The ball I was playing was launching lower than I liked. Switched to a higher launching ball and now it’s a monster. My swing speed is 105mph. Carry is between 275 and 280 now

    One thing all of these "I GAINED XX NUMBER OF YARDS FROM A NEW DRIVER" have in common is their previous driver didnt fit them well. Its not that this driver is sooo fast or whatever these manufacturers want you to think, you just are spinning it less. 2800 to 2000 will gain anyone a decent chunk of distance, but you could have gained that distance with any brand out there, with their old or new drivers. This is all ignoring the fact that he lowered your spin with lower loft, which also will gain you ball speed. If more people understood how all this works, they wouldnt get so hyped on this stuff...

    • @scotthogangolf
      @scotthogangolf 4 дня назад

      Without responding to all of this, I'll just say, he went up in loft 1.75 degrees and lowered spin. So you are not correct.

    • @schapediddly
      @schapediddly 3 дня назад

      @@scotthogangolf Not according to the video, but lets even say that's true for arguments sake, you were hitting down on your cobra and up on the Titleist, a difference of just under 2 degrees. Also, you had an average 6° open face with your cobra, and a basically square face with the Titleist. Square face and more up will both equate to more club speed and less spin, which obviously result in more distance. Let's quit pretending new drivers are any faster. The answer is always in the numbers, whether that be the club spec numbers or swing numbers.

  • @StanforddeJong
    @StanforddeJong 4 дня назад

    2.23 - "We believe that the head is the most important component of the club." This is an interesting comment when you consider the variability in flex, torsion, and twist of every shaft attached to that head! #personalthought

    • @schapediddly
      @schapediddly 4 дня назад

      The main contribution a shaft makes to a golf club is weight... People overhype shafts. The head is infinitely more important than the shaft. When people find a shaft that they swing well, it's 90% the weight that they are timing properly.

    • @scotthogangolf
      @scotthogangolf 2 дня назад

      The head gets you into the right neighborhood. When I hit the different heads, one of them was just a no-go for me personally (still a great club) but based on what I like to see and need it wasn't hitting those windows so I only hit it a few times. But once there, the shaft is going to make little tweaks to really dial in the feel and the numbers needed for the golf club. Part of it can be weight, but a lot of times it's going to be if I have a certain torque it's easier to turn it over or keep the face open, or there are certain shafts with the same weight/flex but completely different bend profiles that feel and produce different results. That was my main goal of this video to show that it is definitely worth going to get fit and get the opportunity to try some different options that are out there.

    Good fitting. My only problem with trying all 3 models is that first you hit your gamer, then you hit the Titleist, then you've got to narrow down shaft, then loft and surefit and with the GT3 possibly the weight. By the end, that's a lot of balls hit and fatigue comes into play.

I think I had the thought going in that I was going to be in GT2, but then after hitting it a few times then going back and forth, I really started to like the weight on the bottom. I have it on the B3 setting with the 10 degree head, and Hzrdus Red CB shaft, stiff 50 g 6.0 shaft. The TSR2 is a really good driver, they feel and look very similar, and I think I cut it out, but we did talk about how TItleist's goal is for their drivers to look and feel the same from year to year, then people just enjoy the benefits of the new technology. I thought that was true, but my biggest thing was when I had mishits (and there was a lot) I just didn't see the ball speed drop or spin increase (misses were bottom heel usually) like I expected.

The unit always struggled with the driver (SS @105ish ball speed 150ish) I have about 8-10ft unit to ball. With all these changes and updates has the unit gotten any better for higher swing speeds indoor. My friend brought his GC3 and no issues at all. Would you recommend for my set up the Limtied edition Mevo plus BLP or the unkeecore eye mini lite Thank you!

      So you have the same room I have and I don't have issues with Mevo+. Numbers match exactly to TM4. I also swing at about 108-112 (when I'm feeling good). At my speed if I'm hitting it well, I can get over 160 ball speed, but it's not always. Although new driver incoming might change that!

      Also I'd say, at this point, I find it very tough to change people's minds, if you aren't finding the numbers to be good, I would try a different unit. I'm lucky to have access to TM4, two GC3's, Top Tracer and Flightscope Mevo+, and if I had UNLIMITED MONEY in the world, I would still get Mevo+ based on all my side by side testing. But that is just my opinion.

    Hello Scott, This was a terrific video. IMO, the Mevo+ (Pro Package) is the best LM on the market and an incredible value to the golfer who is looking to analyze and improve their swing. It's biggest flaw is the outdoor setup is finicky and because of that the data can be skewed. I see a lot of these up for sale and suspect the reason to be setup related. A lot of folks are using these on the range and find it difficult to get consistent data caused by setup issues. FS really needs to update the product to make setup easier and more reliable. The difference between an X3 and Mevo + is actuators, larger battery, and an additional array of radar. It is really impressive that FS is able to put out such quality monitors using off the shelf components. You can FCC ID the products to learn more about them, many would be surprised to learn that a $12k X3 is powered by an inexpensive Raspberry Pi compute module (same with the Mevo+). All these years that the Mevo+ has been on the market, how many videos has anyone seen about outdoor range setup and use? Not many, and for good reason. I definitely see an upgrade path for the Mevo Plus. Might not be actuators and self leveling - but, improved radar array set that tracks full ball flight and possibly aids in setup deviations. FS should focus improvement in these areas as to instill confidence in the data.

    On tour now, my vote goes to Homa and Scott. Couples, Els, Woods, Hogan all time.

      Not a bad list for sure. I do like homa as well, I think when you play a specific ball flight all the time, it makes it easier to fix and also maintain.

    I’ve tried 3 personal launch monitors, as well as one from the PGA superstore and one at club champion. All of my yardages are about 35% short. I’ve used the Garmin R10,Rapsodo MLM original, SkyTrak. I am 100% positive I’m taking full normal swings. It’s really upsetting because I dumped a lot of money into 3 launch monitors and gaming computer. Feels shitty knowing I’ve wasted all of that money.

      Well you can certainly try another, hard to say that there is an issue with Doppler based radars since they are overwhelming what is owned by PGA and LPGA players.

      I guess I’ll purchase a large turf carpet to cover the entire patio. I’ve read some post on forums that say the entire floor has to be the exact same color, the net hitting area has to be one color solid, and I’ve also been told that the area behind me will have to be all one color other than white for the SkyTrak. I haven’t done any of that because I’m hitting balls outdoors and that’s a lot of work to go through to hit balls for about an hour just to pack it up and put it all away again. I could see if you had an indoor Sim but that’s not an option for me.

    Titleist is an iron I am looking at when swap out my irons next year. Currently gaming some wishon 560mc forged irons (5-aw) and then vokey sm9 55 and 60 and just put in some kbs tour c-taper lite x’s through all of them at equal length. Using the jumbo max kite grips through whole bag. Have cobra darkspeed ls driver, and taylormade tour 3w and 5w (all woods have fujikura motore-x f1 shafts), and also have a titleist u505 3 iron with same type of wood shaft but it’s a hybrid shaft. Putter is an odyssey tri-hot 5k with white face insert. Ball is pro v1x. Woods and u505 were fit into recently and my vokey wedges were fit last year. Similar to you I do wedges at 5 degree increments so bent my pw from 47/48 down to 45 and my aw down from 52 to 50. I’m a tall guy so all my stuff is really tall. I have a cart 14 bag but I struggle with keep it on the shoulder when bringing it places and def looking for a better bag setup that I can move around more easily.

      You are correct, I was illustrating that club path is a sum of different numbers. In practicality low point has a huge impact on club path and being able to hit functional shots (we are about the practicality and applying these theories on this channel) but by the letter of the law you are correct.
